You Can’t Rush Success
There is a true phenomenon called Planning Fallacy that was discovered back in the 70’s:
The tendency to hold a confident belief that one’s own project will proceed as planned, even while knowing that the vast majority of similar projects have run late.
Do you get frustrated when things take longer than you think they should?
I know I do. ALL THE TIME.
We are an impatient society and we expect everything to happen super-fast.
And the success of the fast-food industry should tell you everything you need to know about our need for instant gratification.
From going out to the store to get milk to developing a new course or program…
everything takes more time than we expect.
It’s one of the reasons we as entrepreneurs tend to work around the clock.
It’s also why so many fail.
Because they don’t allow enough time for things to happen. They want to skip steps and think they can go right to having a profitable business.
Without putting in all the hard work and time needed to build their brand, and test and tweak their products and services.
Because the first version or the first 10 versions of what you are selling won’t be perfect. It takes time to figure out what your customer really wants and what it will take to deliver that to them
Building and growing a successful business takes time.
Understanding this phenomenon of time and developing a powerful positive mindset to offset this reality that we face every day, is what will help you face down the frustration and become the successful business owner you want to be.
“If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.” -Wayne Dyer
